I've watched several soccer matches on TV before, but this is my first time watching live soccer.
The Vancouver Whitecaps VS San Jose Earthquakes match was exciting! I went to a football game once, and the audience wasn't that frantic during the game, so I didn't anticipate the crowd to be cheering and chanting for the home team all the time.
Watching the audience's reaction was one of my enjoyments. I wouldn't be able to experience those if I just watch the game at home.
Some of the chants are so interesting. I love it!
On Joe Cannon goal kicks:
During buildup to kick: ssssssssssssss
When Joe kicks the ball: BOOOOOM!
On opposing goal kicks:
During build up to kick, with arms raised: Whoooaaaaaaaaa.
When the keeper kicks the ball: YOU FAT BASTARD!
During build up to kick, with arms raised: Whoooaaaaaaaaa.
When the keeper kicks the ball: YOU FAT BASTARD!
"We are blue, we are white, we are fucken dynamite"
At the end, Whitecaps won the game. It's not really that surprising to me though because they have such supportive fans chanting for them throughout the game. I would love to watch the games live again! : )
